Amy, you missed a most important word in my post......SITE
"Have you visited the SITE for Chester County Archives and Records, and checked out the Orphan court?"....the optimal word being SITE. I wasn't suggesting you visit, personally, but visit the SITE and check the orphan court records.
Generally speaking, most of us do not have the option of visiting places personally.....I live many hours away from Chester Co and have a heart condition that does not allow me to travel, so many of us must do our research on line, (and there is no need to depend on others to do it for us)...there is a world of info out there, just for the looking.
I take it from you answer that you have NOT visited the Archives and Records SITE for Chester Co...it is fabulous and absolutely filled with information.
Have you checked to see what has been submitted by volunteers for the county you're interested in....at the usgenweb archives?
So, there are at least 2 sites you haven't checked, and probably a couple others, too. Oh, and have you done a place search at the LDS site, to see what they have filmed for Chester Co?
Don't bother with the Ancestral files....check to see what actual documents are on film.
I have the lookup list for the Chester County rootsweb site and I know you haven't visited there, to ask for lookups, for I do most of them and certainly don't remember you or a query like yours. So, there is yet another place you haven't looked. http://chester.pa-roots.com/
Good luck....just keep looking.
