George Haney aka Georg Henig b. abt 1786 PA
Posted by: Scott Haney (ID *****4197) Date: November 15, 2012 at 01:37:25
  of 886

George Haney and his wife, Elisabetha Mönchen had the following children, all supposedly born in Centre County:
John Creese Haney, Elizabeth Haney (m. Andrew Cherry), George Haney, James Elias Haney, William Haney, Jonathan Haney. They also may have had children David and Mary Magdelena. Elizabeth died in Altoona. Her brothers went west (William to MN,the others to Iowa, then MO, and Johnon to Oregon). George Jr and William married and had children in New Bedford, Coshocton County, Ohio, a stone's throw from Mechanic Township, Holmes county, where Frederick Henney/Haney lived. I believe that area was served by the same church. George Sr. would have been born in about 1785. I am looking for his parents, and for anyone with info on the unusual surname Mönchen. We have George Jrs Fraktur baptismal cert, that says it occured in Centre. Where else should I dig??
