Tim,

Thank you for the suggestion to check whith the Orphans Court. Because county lines changed so many times during the 1800's, I will compose one letter and send it to all the counties where the Gill's, Zimmerman's, Swanger's and Bookhammer's lived.

I have some relatives living in Bolivar, Armagh and Johnstown that I haven't seen for at least 30 years and had hoped they might know something about our ancestors but they don't seem to have any interest in our history.

I did check Civil War records and found 6 different James Gill's. I copied the cards but they don't have enough information.

I have obtained a lot of information from the census reports and am thankful for the information they provide. I am dissapointed in the 2010 Census forms we received in the mail recently. As a person who uses the old census reports to locate ancestors I see the importance in providing information about the parents of each individual and what country people are from. In the future it will be more difficult for genealogist to trace their ancestors.

Tim, could you tell me how you are related to the Gill family? Where were they from?

Again, Thank YOU!

Respectfully,

Linda Thuemling
