from pages 1577 and 1578 of the 1898 Commemmorative Biographical Record of Central Pa (Centre, Clearfield, Jefferson and Clarion). There is quite a bit about this family, but the pertinent details are:

Joshua Folk, who was "wounded by a shell while serving in the 184th P.V.I., is now (1898) an ex-policeman living in Bellefonte".

He was a son of Jonathan Folk (born in Dauphin county and died in Altoona at age 81) and Hannah Bathost (daughter of Henry Bathost of Centre county. Hannah died at Milesburg past the age of 60).

Jonathan Folk was a son of John Folk (who was born in Germany). John Folk and his wife (no name given in book) died in Dauphin county.
