The AIKEY family came from Germany prior to the Civil War and part of the family moved into central Pennsylvania and settled near Mr. Eagle, Centre Co., PA prior to 1860. In the 1870's the family consisting of Dad, Mom, and two boys - aged aprx 15 and 6. Also in the 1870's they left by train to go out west to the Wheat Fields of Nebraska (?) to either buy land and farm wheat, or work on a wheat form. Within a few months of their arrival, the "Mom" got ill and "Dad" sent her and the youngest son back to Mt. Eagle to be nursed back to health by "Mom's" mother. But, within a few months of their arrive back in Mt. Eagle, "Mom" died. "Junior" was then raised by his maternal grandmother.
He grew up, married and had at least one son. Who, in turn grew up and married and had two children : Arthur Albert Aikey, b. 15-July-1917 in Altoona, Blair Co., PA. and Elizabeth b. about 4 or 5 years later.
Arthur Albert AIKEY m. Miss Jessie GOODMAN about 1944 in PA and then moved to W. VA where Arthur had a job as a chemist for a paper company.
I'm looking for information on the parents and grandparents of Arthur Albert AIKEY.
