I'm doing research for a friend.
His great-grandfather, Vincentius/Vincent/Vince MORAVEK emigrated from the village of Dojc,Slovakia about 1890.
He settled in Lansford where he became a Coal-Miner. He had married Veronica LESKA/LESSKA presumably in Dojc about 1887. They had four sons, Josephus/Joseph (grandfather) (1889) Paulus/Paul (1891) Joannes/John(?) and Florianus(1895) all born in Dojc.
Around 1905 he was joined by Joseph and possibly Paul. In 1911 Joseph married Justina SLOBODA in St. Michaels RC Church, Lansford. His name is shown as " Joe MORAVICK ".
In the 1910 Census of Abbott St - North Side, Lansford, Vincent is shown as a Boarder, age 51, married 23 years. Coal Miner. No sign of his wife, Veronica anywhere. He also seems to vanish after the 1910. I have put in as many name permutations that I can think of for this couple, but no luck.
I thought it possible that Veronica never came to the States, although her name has been passed down. Did Vincent die between 1910-1920 ?
Perhaps someone with access to Lansford records could take a look for Vincent & Veronica. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
