I suggest getting Sen. John Coyle death certificate and obituary. I would imagine his obit would be longer than most and should list surviving siblings. Check with the Historical Society of Schuylkill County to see what they may have on him.

The Pottsville Republican lists two John Coyle's that might fit: http://www.pottsvillelibrary.org/REPUBLICAN_DEATHS.txt

One died in 1951 and the other in 1958. Hopefully one is the right one.

Once you confirm who his father was it should help in establishing who his grandfather was.
