Thanks - it is not really a surprise that his brother Thomas was so close - it did seem to be the case.
They did have an older brother Samuel but although in PA too he seemed to have gone his separate way - to Allegheny and not bothered with the other 2!

Census details over here are notoriously unreliable - dates and place pf birth differ from year to year until it comes to a lucky dip in some cases!!!

I know Thomas and Daist wereborn in Frank,Alberta, Canada so will see if they appear over there from 1900 till 1908 when apparently they emigrated from Canada to US .
And seeing as the 2 eldest were born in Canada will go to Nova Scotia ships lists to see if I can find them anywhere - mind you - more porkies on the way I suppose!
I mean 1 census you loooked up had him emigrating 3 years before he was even born!!!
Now that I think is highly unlikely--------don't you?!!!!!
