I just found my 2xGF, George Michaels, in Mauch Chunk in 1860 and 1870 census. Also found on Carbon GenWeb that he and wife are buried in Mauch Chunk Cemetery. Also owned propeerty at 72 Center St(Beer's map) in 1875 which is also the year he died. Wife's name is Catherine. They came from Bavaria in 1842 and lived in New Jersey in the 1850 census.Their son John was my GGF. They also had a son Charles who, in 1860 listed occ. as mason. In 1870 he is blind. Illness,Accident? I don't know.
If anyone has any info on this line I would appreciate hearing from you. What I just put in this post is all I know.
