Here is a link to a very helpful site that houses many Carbon links.

In my experience with the courthouse they do not seem to be "overjoyed" to do look ups. Since I live in the next town I can do all of my own research and they are more than happy to point you in the right direction. I believe that death records were only kept if there was a will involved. ANd if that is the case you must gather that information and walk it a block to the Archived building and wade through microfishe. All it will cost you is the cost of copies 25-75 cents per page. I'm not sure what it would cost for someone in the courthouse to do it for you, there may be information about that on the link above.
Then there's also old newspapers on microfishe, The Dimmick Memorial library is right up the street from the courthouse. Of course you'll spend some time there but who knows what you'll stumble across while looking for your ancestors. The newspapers is what I have had the most luck with finding death dates.
