catholic church records

I called a catholic church in Cambria county to request information on an ancestor's baptism and marriage certificate, and I was told they can't give it to me because of a privacy act. Yet, they have a list of people and dates in their cemetery posted on the internet. Can the catholic church prevent you access to family certificates?
