Brenda, Can you tell me when you think Michael McGuire Jr was born and who was his mother? The 1717 seems out of place.

Also, I have looked at all the Ledoux entries as well as others and along with your well studied opinion, I have come to agree that Mary Ann was the illigimate daughter of Michael Joseph McGuire and Sarah Byrnes. I guess you have read Catholic Trails West, vol 2. I thought it interesting that Sarah Byrnes was listed with Michael McGuire and Mary Ann pg 693 and then with Michael McGuire and with John Platt on page 715.
