I have info on Barnabas, who was my gg-gf. Also, a cousin living near me has a photo of William A., in his civil war uniform. I have only a scan of a xerox of that photo, but I might be able to get the original to scan. I will check. There was a photo purported to be Barnabas, but was really his brother Charles McDermitt - I think he was in the same unit. However, another cousin has an old family album which has a photo I believe is of Barnabas, going by the fact that his wife's picture was on the same page and probably taken at the same time. I also have some of his pension application papers, but I am in contact with someone who I think has all his military papers. Barnabas left the unit after being injured when his horse fell on him. I also had contact some time back with one of William's descendants, but the name escapes me, so I have to look it up in my files.
