Looking for information on my g-g grandfather. Rev. Pleasant Tucker was in Butler, Pa., in 1900, living with his first wife, Eliza who would die in 1904. He was working as a scavenger-trash collector, but he was also there helping to organize Second Baptist Church which sat where the 1913 old Thompson Ice Cream Company Building now stands (North and Chestnut). I believe the church eventually moved to Fairgrounds and Pillow Streets. It does appear in the History of Butler, Pa., book. As far as I can find, the church either disbanded or merged with another congregation before 1920. Just trying to find any additional information about the church, old records about Butler City workers or anything that can provide additional information on what his life was like. Rev. Tucker founded Third Baptist Church in Youngstown in 1874 and was also attributed as being a founder of the Allegheny Baptist Association (Colored).
