Hooker school, Concord Twp.

In 1950 we moved to a farm in Butler County. It was a couple of miles from the tiny village of Hooker just down the road from Grease City. I think Hooker was in Concord Twp. and consisted of a handful of houses, a school and a general store. I spent third and fourth grades in the school which I think had 4 rooms. First and second were in one room and third and fourth in another. My teacher was Mrs. Mellott. I think the surrounding townships consolidated and we had to write CECVW on top of our papers because Concord, Eau Claire, Venango and Washington would have been a bit much. This would have been 1950-1952. I believe the school district is now Northern Butler County School District which is a lot less cumbersome a name.

I spent fifth grade in a one-room school which I think was in North Washington. Then sixth grade was in a gym in Eau Claire where the desks were bolted to 2x4's so they could be moved out of the way when they needed to use the gym. The baby boomers were coming up behind me and the school system was overwhelmed already. In 7th grade I was back in Hooker.

Does anybody have any memories of these schools? I would particularly like pictures of them especially Hooker.
