Luke COVERT question

Can anyone tell me if the Luke Covert who "settled in Slippery Rock, Butler Co in 1796" is the same Luke (there are several!) who was born in Elizabeth, NJ 1758 and fought in the Rev. War?

There was a document signed by a witness, Luke P. Covert, who evidentally belonged to the same militia as "Luke" Covert and both served from Essex Co NJ. How are these two related???

Has anyone found ANY actual documents in Butler Co re: Luke Covert other than a History of Butler that states he arrived in 1796?
Thanks for your input.
Sheri
