My records tell me that Martha Stackhouse (b 1758) who married Caleb Gilbert (b 1754) in 1780,died giving birth to Samuel Gilbert in 1782. Samuel Gilbert married Elizabeth Butz whose son Charles Gilbert married Mary Siglin whose daughter Mary Jane Gilbert married Samuel Croll whose son Samuel Wilbur Croll married Catherine Isabel Halladay, whose daughter Barbara Jane Croll Burling (b1921 d 2000) was my mother.

I have more dates somewhere.

The Stackhouses go way back.

The Gilbets I can only trace back to Philadelphia in 1683.

Both families were Quakers.

I have lots more information if it would be helpful. I'm just sorting through my mother's voluminous records.

FamilySearch.org (LDS) records the wedding and death of Martha Stackhouse Gilbert but they are unaware of the birth of the son Samuel. You can go back from Martha Stackhouse on that site.

Benjamin Gilbert's (b 1710 d 1780) father was Joseph Gilbert who married Rachel Taylor. Joseph's parents were Florence and John Gilbert. John was born in Cornwall in 1645.

I can trace Rachel Taylor back to Thomas Taylor, who was born in 1524.

I hope this helps.
