I am searching for information on the family of John Kirkendall born 1799/1802. In 1850 Franklin Township, Bradford Co. PA census page 56 John Kirkendall is age 48, his wife's name looks like Johnie. She was age 48. Children are: Susan A. 22, Hannah 18, Julia 16, James M. 12, Eliza J. 10 and John 6.
In 1860, still in Franklin Twp, page 275, John is 60. He has remarried. Wife Sophia age 60. Children listed: Susan 26, hannah 24 and John 16.
In 1870, still in Franklin Twp, page 187 John Kirkendall is age 71, wife Sophia age 68, children listed: Hannah 33, John 22 and Ann Kirkendall age 75 (her occupation is as a retired housekeeper. May be a sister or sister-in-law to John Kirkendall.
In 1880 still in Franklin twp, page 181. John Kirkendall age 81 widower, is listed as father of J.(James) M. Kirkendall age 42, wife Euphema 41, children: Kate 19, Ernest 16, Emory 12, Hannah 10, and Wesley 6.
On the next page, 182 is John Kirkendall age 36, wife Martha E. 35, children: John H. 6 and William L. 3.
All of the above people were born in PA and their parents were born in PA.
Would anyone have time to look for marriage licenses for these people. Death/obituaries? Any knowledge of them after the 1880 census? They seem to disappear.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you may have time to share.
Betty K. Price
