Mormon Hill and Mormon Lake

I am trying to find any information that I can about Mormon Hill and Mormon Lake in the Southwest corner of Ridgebury Twp. I have ancestors that lived in this corner of the township. They were Jonathan Campbell, born 1812 in Ridgebury Twp., and John Campbell, his brother, born 1796 in Orange County, NY. They were part of a large family of Campbell's and Fullers that first settled Ridgebury Twp. in 1804/5. (Joel Campbell and Isaac Fuller families). I know that Jonathan Campbell joined the Mormon Church in 1837, and John Campbell joined in 1837 or 1842 while living in Ridgebury Twp. They were baptized by their brother Benajah Campbell, who had moved to Ridgebury from Catlin, Chemung Co., about 1837. Another brother Ezekiel Campbell may have also joined the Mormons at this time as well as many of their children.

I would like to find out anything that I can about the Mormon Hill/Lake area, who owned the land around there in the 1830's and 1840's Who first settled in the area, and what connection these Campbells may have had in the area. What other Mormons may have lived in the area. I have heard rumors that they may have had a meeting house there as well as a cemetary.

I understand that the area around the lake has been developed recently.
