Hello Pamela Barnett-
I have tried looking for closed Presbyterian churches- and whether they were merged/continued under a different name--or were their shut down church records sent on to the Presby permanent archives/repository- also Presby microfilm at the local library has been enlightening- Now, trying to apply this logic, I searched for the archives, then looked in their catalogue--

Are you lucky--look at second entry pasted below- Barron, D. H. (David Henry), 1828-1903- maybe he will be an important clue for you- "Sermon preached September 8, 1901 in Hollidaysburg / by Rev. D.H. Barron, D.D., Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church ; on the fortieth anniversary of his pastorate. Altoona, Pa. : Press of W. and H.W. Slep, 1901." Forty years may cover your time period, one can hope...this is rough speculation of course.

I notice in your posts that you may or do descend from my early Samuel DAVIS family of Frankstown PA area-- i.e. Eleanor DAVIS m James HARDIN, Rev War Soldier. Have you published your DAVIS research? I would like to read it...The common surname of DAVIS is arising frequently on the new Family Finder autosomal DNA results just out for my line...but of course one can't tell which surname is responsible for the declared fourth or fifth cousin status assigned by the Familytreedna lab, Houston, TX. DAVIS ties into my own William POOL/POOLE line (of John POOLL the wealthy early miller, d. 1667ish) with Y-DNA posted in my POOLE DNA Project, about six years old now...has DAVIS Y-DNA been done, I hope.

Congrats on all your hard work!
