Schuylkill River Road, Union Township, Berks County

Looking to connect with anyone researching families who lived in Union Township, Berks County, especially those who lived along the Schuylkill River from the eastern border of Berks County west to the town of Birdsboro. This would include the small communities of Port Union and Mt. Airy, more widely known in the early 20th C. as part of Douglassville. This road today is Rte. 724, with this section being known as E. Main Street, Douglassville, but was earlier known as the Schuylkill Road or the old River Road.

Those in my family living in this area include the surnames Kupp, Shaner, Linderman, Houck, Boas, Boone, and Yost but looking at 19th C. property maps residents along this road also include the surnames Harrison, Hook, Moore, Kutz, White, Bechtel, Hipple, Bland, Zimmerman, Fisher, Flannery, Haley, Kerlin, Stewart, Yocom, Heckman, Lord, Klink, and Reifsnyder among others.
