Hello Mchael:
Sorry, we just returned from a trip, and I checked this evening for your Swearingen/Woods in the Swearingen Book.
All it states is "Catherine Swearingen born aft 1794,
Pa. She married Thomas Woods, lived in Il. Their children were John V Woods, bn 16 oct. 1826, and George Chapman Woods bn 17 Mar 1829, md Eliza Ann Hagens, 2nd Emiline Lancaster Steadman."
Catherines father John Van Swearingen bn 1-7-1772, near present Washington D.C., moved with his family in 1779 to Beaver C.,Pa, died 11 Aug 1846.John's Will mentions Land in Brooke Co.,Va, and in Il.
This is also quoted from the book.
Sorry there wasn't anything on your Wood Family.
There were Woods in the book, but none close to yours.
Carol A. Dixon
(A Swearingen)
