I wonder if your grandfather Walter Moss from Freedom is the same Walter Moss who was a friend of my parents. About 1923 my father Wilford Smith (of Freedom) and several other men including Walter Moss accepted a transfer from the Conway Yards in Beaver County to the Pennsylvania Railroad shops at Oil City in Venango County. Eventually all the men except my father returned to Beaver County. My father has been dead many years (Buried in Freedom) but I've heard my mother speak of Walter Moss many times and somewhere in my old photos I have a snapshot of him. If this sounds familiar, I can ask my mother what she remembers about him although what she would know would deal mostly with his time in Oil City rather than his family.
