Thanks for the information. It turns out that daughter Alice was born in PA in 1899, so she was actually 11 at time of census. I have just learned that they were back in Ohio at the time of the 1900 census, so I have obtained that census info.

Now, I'm going to try and obtain a copy of Alice's birth record from the Beaver Co. courthouse. Will this be possible by just having the month available, with no specific date? I believe I read that these records are on films there. Ruth was my grandmother, and she was estranged from all her siblings. All I've learned about Alice is that she was married three times, and we have no idea to whom. So I'll have to start with the birth record and start by that. Once I've got a more specific date, I'll try to SSDI again (there were 175 Alice's born in May of 1899 in the SSDI - way to many to start tracing them all!)
