Hi Sharon. I just found your message today and hope I can help. I suspect Sue Oshop was the younger sister of my grandfather John. He was born in October 1913, the same year that my great-grandparents, John and Mary Oczep immigrated from Medzilaborce, a rural town in northeastern Slovakia. My family is of the Ruthenian ethnicity and belonged to the Greek Catholic Church. The name Oczep was Americanized in the 1920s by my great-grandfather to Oshop. I came by this information from my late grandfather's papers. Hope this helps.
