Not sure who the father of William Morton (d. Rock Point) was -- but know that both William Morton and Rebecca Hazen Morton are buried at Slippery Rock Cemetery.
Rebecca Hazen's father was actually Samuel Hazen (b. 1791, d. 1855) -- the son of Nathaniel Hazen (b. 1745, d. 1835). So Rebecca Hazen would actually be Nathaniel's granddaughter. Nathaniel, Rebecca's grandfather, is buried in the Providence Baptist Cemetery -- with his wife -- Mary Bell Hazen. Nathaniel was a prominent member of Providence and served as an elder of the congregation until his death in 1835.
When you went to Slippery Rock Cemetery -- did you find an Alexander Caven buried near Rebecca Hazen Morton? Alexander Caven married Rebecca Hazen Morton in 1854 -- hence the 1850 census lists Rebecca as "Rebecca Morton" (since William died in 1848) -- and the 1860 census lists her with Alexander Caven.
Can you e-mail me a copy of the estate notice from the Beaver Argus that you have for William Morton, Jr.? I'm presently trying to document Rebecca's marriage to William Morton and then to Alexander Caven.
If you need more info about Rebecca Hazen Morton drop me a line -- I have oodles!
