STOUFFER FAMILIES, CHURCH OF GOD, WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP ON MAP OF 1876

I am doing a family history/memory book on the Stouffer family who came from WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, ARMSTRONG COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA.
I also have family members living in EAST FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, that are listed in that 1876 map.
Will put two other posts regarding EAST FRANKLIN AND VALLEY TOWNSHIP MAPS FOR THAT YEAR NEXT.

On this map I have of interest to my Stouffer family are several things.
first I have the name J. Stouffer who is right below the Sherrat Post Office. This would be a family relative.
This is located between the Allegheny River and the Sugarcreek Township Township Line.

farther down on this map and near the East Franklin Township Line are S. Stouffer and the Church of God.
The two of these are of interest to me because S. Stouffer (Samuel Stouffer was at least a 3 times great grandfather to me and I think was a Trustee at the Church of God when the land was transfered between the Leisure family and the Church) See article in the HISTORY OF ARMSTRONG COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA in most every library across the United States.

I have a few other interests in this particular map also.
One is of the Rimerton Ferry that went across the Allegheny River ( I am assuming it went over to Rimerton on the East side of the river to the Railroad Station where folks caught the railroad and then traveled to Kittanning.)
I know about the Ferry because in the 1930's my mother lived above the M.E. Church that is located along the Allegheny River and she rode the Ferry (I don't know if it was the same name at that time or not). While living above that church, my Grandmother, Agnes Stott, my mother's mother passed away in the middle of a very nasty winter and the undertaker could not come to the house nor could she be transported to a funeral home, and my mother lived alone with her mother, mothr-in-law and 4 small children while her father worked for the railroad to help with the family needs. The Church donated a plot to bury my mother in and she lies in that plot to this day. She passed away in 1939.

I AM RESEARCHING THE FERRY THAT WENT ACROSS THE RIVER TO ADD TO MY STOTT FAMILY HISTORY AS MY FATHER WORKED FOR THE RAILROAD AND MY MOTHER CAUGHT THE RAILROAD AT RIMER AND I WANT TO "CONNECT THE DOTS" THROUGH THIS MAP AND THROUGH THE YEARS OF THIS FERRY.
ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Then the CHURCH OF GOD, WHICH IS AS WE KNOW IT CALLED, (THE LIMESTONE CHURCH OF GOD0 LOCATED IN ADRIAN, PENNSYLVANIA) where it was back then is connected to the family through our Samuel Stouffer who was one of the Trustee's that went through the legal transaction with the rest of the Trustee's of the Church and the Leisure Family and also, many of our ancestor's and family members are buried there.
I recieved word a year or so ago that the church is no longer in existance but the building and cemetery are there. don't know if true or not...I live in Texas now.

I was told that Samuel Stouffer was a farmer who grew sorghum and made molassass, but I do not know which Samuel that was...as there are at least 3 maybe 4 in the older family line.

As I hope you can tell, I am looking for information about these folks and the church, and the ferry back in the days of this map or atany earlier dates up to the 1930's at least if there are any Stouffer families there during those dates.
thank you to anyone who could help me out
I am searching for old photo's of the Ferry, the church in "olden days' (it wasn't always called the Church of God" and any photo's of the Stouffer Families who have lived in this area during the old days and their properties for my book.
It will be a book of history and many memories.
I have many interesting things and want to add this to the book if possible.
thanks to any and all who can helop me out.
I have tried in the past to contact the folks at the church but nevr got any response and I live in Texas and cannot come back home to do research.
have a great day and thanks again.
