We had quite a surprise when we found the deed for John Euwer's farm in Plum Township (now Plum Borough). The actual purchase took place in Jan., 1797 in Cumberland Co., and the land was purchased from the warrantee who lived in Cumberland Co. The deed tells us that John Euwer was "of Fannett Township, Franklin County" so we now know that John, at least, was there prior to moving to Allegheny Co. The deed to the land along Plum Creek was recorded in Allegheny Co. in May, 1797. The original John Euwer farm is located opposite Plum Creek Cemetery along New Texas Road with some question as to whether the lower portion of the cemetery was once part of the farm. John Euwer was my third great grandfather.
