Family of Sterline YATES and Martha Jane NEGLEY

Sterling C. YATES (1925-1991) married Martha Jane NEGLEY (1926-1999) and had two sons with her: Sterling, Jr. and Lindsey. Sterling, Sr. and his wife are buried in the Negley plot in Allegheny cemetery in Pittsburgh.

But I can't find out a lot more information about Sterling Yates, and what I have may or may not refer to the same man. He may have been born in Chicago. He may have been a merchant seaman crossing the Atlantic a number of times in 1945. He may have been a radio and TV personality on KDKA in Pittsburgh in the 1950s and 60s (if we are talking about the same person).

Who were Sterling's parents? Was he born in Chicago?

Is the merchant seaman from 1945 and the KDKA radio/TV performer from the 50s and 60s, the same person who married Martha Jane Negley?

Willing to share information.

Bill Muller (a Negley)
