Seeking information on Joseph N. Smith, a physician who was enumerated w/family in 1840 through 1860 census records of
Adams Co., PA (Butler Twp). He was born about 1807 in PA and died before 1870. He was married on 6 Jan 1831 in Gettysburg by Rev. C. G. McLean to Miss Louisa SMITH, b. 1810 MD (parentage unknown) d. after 1880 probably in Adams Co. PA area. Using family census enumerations as a guide (1840 thru 1900 Adams Co. PA) the children of Joseph and Louisa were:
1. Josephine and Louisa, both b. 1833 (?twins?);
3. Mary and Ann, both b. 1837 (?twins?);
5. George, b. May 1840, who became a doctor and practiced medicine in
Adams Co. according to his 1870-1900 census enumerations
in that county with wife Sarah and family;
6. Theodosia/Theodore (male) born 1842;
7. Rosanna E. born 1846; and
8. James Crichton born 1850.
