Thank you for the information you have posted. It does seem likely that the Jesse and J. A. Osment enumerated on the 1860 Trinity Co., CA census with T[heophilus] Netherly are two of the sons of John and Sarah (Howren) Ozment. Why did they go to California?
According to what you posted:
1. Samuel Ozment (b. ca. 1757, MD) m. Mary
2. Charles Ozment m. Rachel Ozment
3. Jonathan Ozment m. Sarah Neatherly
4. Jesse Ozment (b. ca. 1839) & John Ozment (b. ca. 1841)
Were they related to Theophilus and if so, what was the relationship? Does anyone know anything about Sarah Neatherly?
I am a descendant of Theophilus Neathery and I cannot yet connect him to other Neatherys. I thought perhaps the Ozment clues might help.
