I was looking at the Oxners and found this so wondered if you had found out anything yet. My grandfathers mother was the daughter of Henry and Sarah Caroline Whitmire....I have a copy of the pages from an old Whitmire-Oxner family Bible... Henry Oxner and Sarah had three children...James Albert Oxner-b:Dec. 10, 1848, Martha Ann Catherine Oxner(my g-grandmother) born Nov. 24, 1850 and John Asberry Oxner born Nov. 29, 1852. Apparentally Henry and Sarah divorced and he married Elizabeth Gregg. They are buried here in Haywood County, NC not too far from where we live. I plan to go up soon and take pictures of their graves. There were around 10 children born to Henry and Elizabeth. Have those written down somewhere too. There is a Jacob Oxner listed too so apparentally is Henrys brother. I think there were at least two and possibly three Henry Oxners. I know I ran across another one who had the wrong one married to the Whitmire. Let me know what you have and I will see if I can get the rest of my information together. Haven't done anything with it in quit awhile!Hoping to find others researching the Whitmire and Oxner lines also the Troutman line. Martha Ann Catherine Oxner married William David Troutman. Please email any information you have to [email protected].
