An Oxley brought his family to Canada in 1772 aboard a British ship. There were 13 families in all from Yorkshire.

This group of families had a grant of land from King George III of England in what we now call the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada. They settled in that place as farmers to the best of my knowledge. It was of course, just prior to the American Revolution of 1776.
