Descendents of Arthur Onby
Posted by: Rita Ownby Holcomb (ID *****0789) Date: November 14, 2005 at 10:12:50

For years there have been trees and information floating regarding the children and descendents of Arthur Onby.

There is the John line and the Thomas of Virginia line (that's me) and neither of these can be documented as the sons of Arthur. It is assumed that John and Thomas of Virginia were brothers but to date I have seen no proof of that either.

I have an extensive file of British Ownby's (pick any spelling you choose) and can link none to either John or Thomas or Arthur.

There are too many similarities between the two families (both physical and the naming of children) to discount that these 2 families are related.

I would like to be in touch with a John family researcher and let's put our heads together and see if we can finally solve this puzzle.

Someone from the Sevier Co line please email me.
