I am looking for info on John Cockey Owings (b.1799 - Bourbon Cnty. Kentucky). I know that he married Elizabeth Fraker around 1819 in Warren Cnty. KY but then lose him until the 1880 census where he is living with his daughter and her husband in Cherokee Cnty, Iowa. It's been said that he was an Indian interpreter but I can find no confirmation on that. Elizabeth Fraker's father, Michael Fraker, fouded a small community called Fraker's Grove in Knox Cnty, Illinois in about 1830. Did John C. & Elizabeth join him there? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
