Judy my name is Betty Owensby Jones, my mother and dad were Ray Lucas Owensby, Mattie Bell Wlbourn. Dad died in 2-18-1983, Mom died 5-6-1976. They are both buried in Pauls Valley, Ok. Mom and Dad had 10 children. Gerturde, Carial, Faye, Nell, Reba, Edith, Glenn, Marie, Lewis (Doodle), and Betty. They are all deceased except Reba and Betty. I live in Bethany Oklahoma and have two daughters and 3 grandchildren. Dad had 21 children in his family with two mom's. My grandmother was Ida Chandler. I can name some of the brothers and sisters and half brothers and sisters. Moodie, Sankie were twins they are both deceased, Sankie wis buried in Salisaw, Moodie is buried in Hennryetta, Ok. He had a sister Flora buried in Little Rock, May,deceased 9-11-93. Dad had a brother named Fred but I am not sure if they were by the same mom. I don't know the others of his real sisters and brothers. Children from Emma was Mayme, Ruth, Reka, Fairy, Cleo Marie, J.G., Clarence Penner, Idus Vernol. I believe this divisision is correct. John Gilbert my granddad father was David Ownbee, born in 1800 in N. Carolina his wife was Rutha, borned 1810 in Tenn. David and Rutha had 6 children, Amanda, born 1831. Tenn, Elizabeth born 1834 in Tenn, Jeremiah R. borned 1838, Tenn.,Rebecca C borned 1840 Tenn, William borned 1843, Tenn., Francis M. borned 1846, Tenn.,John Gilbert born 1849, McKenzuie Carrol Tenn. David father was Thomas Ownbee. I called on the Owensby's listed in the phone book here in Oklahoma City and they did not seem to think we were related. What connection are you to the Owensbys?
