Thanks for the reply and the information from your cousin. I did not have the names for Wiley's parents; Julius and Judith add another generation to my list.
To clarify one thing, I am not related to any of these families. I am doing research for a friend of mine who is the grandson of Timothy C. Carmichael and Martha Owen and lives in Cincinnati.
Looking at your cousin's data, I believe that she got the birthdates/ages from the 1850 Census; 18, 16, 14, 12(Letitia), 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1 does not make sense if you look at other data and also other census records for 1860, 1870,1880, and 1900. In fact, few of the ages on these censuses make any sense. That being said, there is some consistency with the age of George Rufus Owen, which puts his birthdate as 1838 and not 1848; the 1900 Census alone shows 1838(no month as do other dates on this census) as the year of his birth. Also, William Owen does not show up on the 1850 Census...perhaps a mistake?...but is 16 on the 1860 Census with parents, Wiley and Mary. I would be interested in knowing the exact birth and death dates for George Rufus and Martha Hill Owen and also similar information about their siblings. Joe
