Thomas Owen - Fleet Street Engraver!
I have read the messages here and realise that there are lots of Owen's around!
Can any of you help me with this problem I have in finding the next generation in my family:
Kirk b 1963 son of Colin (1928-1995) son of Henry (1875-1963) son of Arthur (1845-1926) son of Edward (1807-1874) son of Thomas.Henry Arthur and Edward were all engineers and in particular Edward was a brass founder who had his own business in London. We all come from London and Edward was born in New Street Square. His parents were Thomas and Amy who was from a French family by the name of Plank (Planque)They married at St George Hanover Square in 1794 but I have no idea where Thomas came from or where he was born although it might have been Nottingham as that is what the family tell me but I have no facts to support this. The only other thing I know about him is that he was an engraver.I have info on most of his descendants but of antescedents I know nil.It is probably a tall order but can anyone assist?
Cheers
Kirk
