Greetings to all the Overby's! I am the great granddaughter of Anton Overby of rural Langdon, North Dakota and I am searching for his brother Hans' family. They were in Grafton, N.D. in the early 1900's and Anton's family stayed in North Dakota but Han's family we do not know where they went from there. They came to U.S. from Norway in late 1800's and either entered from Ellis Island or came in from Canada, we can not find them on the register as when they entered U.S. their last name was Peterson or(Pederson). Due to the number of Peterson's in Grafton, N.D. they changed their name to Overby which was the village they had came from in Norway. We do not know if there were more siblings that remained in Norway either so we are searching for anything we can find. This was a promise to my father to find these missing family members before he passes away. We do not want anything from them except information and a chance to fill our family tree with some answers. Would love to hear from anyone who fits this description. We are caucasian and are still in North Dakota. We await for any and all information. I thank you and my father thanks you.
