Outten --> Outen?
Posted by: Ron Outen Date: April 16, 1999 at 19:04:13

There is a line of Outen's arising in coastal SC in the early 1800's, from which I am descended. We lose the backward trail with Jacob Outen of Lancaster, SC, War of 1812 pension records. Other given names overlap, but they are mostly biblical so doesn't mean much.
Hypothesis: Some Accomack Outten migrated south and dropped a "t", but I have found no evidence to support this.
Any help on question whether we Outen's can link into the rich Outten history?
