Hey Fran,
My sources that state Bill Anderson was in hisidng fro the federals until 1924 include:
1."The Promised Land" by James C. White
2. The "Scrapbook Series" from the Brownwood Bulletin by Lorene Bishop-former historian of the Brown County Historical Society, date of artice was 10/01/89
3. San Antonio Express newspaper, August 24, 1924 by Henry C. Fuller entitled "Bill Anderson of the Quantrill Band of Guerrillas"
4. "The Nice and Nasty in Brown County" by Ruth Griffin Spence
5. "From The Memories of Men" by T.C. Smith Jr., 1954, interview with Pat Anderson who was Bill Anderson's youngest son.
If you were in Brownwood for a very long period of time and were looking for the truth about Colonel William C. Anderson you surely would've encountered most of these sources yourself.
