Hello:
We dod not go to the Elmwood Cemetery. Too much going down.
I was reading about a interview with Jesse's widow --At the time of death. Left with two children a boy and a girl" 7 & 3." "She was Greatly affected by the tragedy, with heart rendering moans and expressions of grief. "Expressing the love she bore for the dead desperado."
Crowds of hundreds gathered at the undertakers establishment where the body lay." At the city hall, at the court house, and in fact on every street corner."
Coroner Heddins was notified, and undertaker Sidenfaden instructed to remove the body to His establishment."
"This was about 10 oclock. The body had been taken out of the casket and placed on a table. The Body Was neatly Dressed and Clean".
The Features" appeared natural" but was disfigured by the bloody hole over the left eye," Large Cavernouse eyes were closed,as in slumber." Stout Prominent chin covered with a sandy beard--etc"
"Further inspection of the body revealed two large bullet wounds on the right side of the breast within three inches of the nipple. A bullet wound in the leg and the absence of the tip of the middle finger of the left hand."
All of this I copied and is in quote marks. Not sure where I zeroxed this from.
This is dif from what I have always heard/read about. I wonder about the "bloody bullet hole over the left eye." (Was it exit or entrance wound. It does not say anything about another wound. So I assume its an entrance.
I always read where He had His back to the Fords and started turning His head as the sound of the gun being cocked. Bullet hole above the left eye seems He would have had to be facing the shooter.
Then the "Bullet holes --right breast" 3" from the nipple--(up, down right or left)?
I also read (sommers) where He had been told that He would die and He had gone home to die from His wounds.
Then again what do I know? Lots has been writ and lots more to be written. I'm ready to read more about it too. Paul
