Good in Near Fine dust jacket; The top of the book's spine has a couple of 1/16" tears, otherwise the binding is almost as new. Bkpl inside front cover. Contents are almost like new. Dust jacket is almost as new. (1882?,c.1970) 1992. Hardcover. Medium brown boards, bright gold lettering. Introduction and notes by Joseph Snell. 'Said to be an authentic reprint of the long suppressed, 1882 edition. ' First printing thus. Selected bibliography. Index. 38 b/w photos. BIOGRAPHY. Published originally the month followng Jesse James' murder in 1882, this book allegedly relied heavily upon two important primary sources: Jesse's wife and Jesse's mother. They disputed Triplett's claim regarding their participation in the writing of the book, but later sued the publisher for non-payment of royalties. It is suspeced that Misouri's Governor Crittrenden was behind the suppression of the book. This present reprint brings to the public a work of both historical value and personal interests, made more significant historically by Joseph Snell's editorial contributions and made more interesting by the passing years which have continued the facts and legends of the most renowned outlaw of America's West - Jesse James. ; 9-1/4" Tall; 344 pages .
