Fran,
I can relate to this story. My maternal grandfather died when my mother was only two. He was in the Army, in a hospital and gravely ill. I was fortunate enough to have these letters, written between my grandmother and grandfather both. When in sequence, they tell a beautiful, yet sad love story.
