Sounds like he needed to be in that psych facility for his own fear of being implicated in the death of Wilkins. For all we know, he could have killed her becasue she was blackmailing him. He said he called that weekend to check on her. Funny, she wasn't found till Tuesday and no one could reach her because the phone was off the hook. He must of space traveled.
