My gr gr grandfather James H. Massey was from Springfield, MO. His first wife Faithful Strickland had Elizabeth Massey who married Zenas Marion "Buck" Rountree and William B. Massey married Almarinda Caroline Rountree in Springfield, MO.
James Massey and Joseph Rountree may be found on early land and tax records in Springfield, MO.,Green County. Joseph Rountree was b. April 14.1782 Orange Co., NC. He married Nancy Nichols b. Nov. 6 1786 Person, NC.
Martha Ellen Anderson was James Massey's # 2 wife and my gr gr grandmother. Her first cousin was William C Anderson from Brownwood ,Texas who came out as Bloody Bill Anderson in 1924.

These Rountree's go back to Judge R. H. (Rutherford Harrison Rountree) who was robbed by Jesse Woodson James. His watch was found on Jesse James when he was shot and killed in MO. Judge Rountee's daughter's ring was on Zee Mims finger.
More on Rountrees and lineage of Rutherford Harrison Rountree and my Massey Family. William Massey and Almiranda Caroline Rountree should be included here.
