John M James wife was named Mary ( Polly) Poor,James. She died in Childbirth in 1827 when their daughter Mary Elizabeth was born. Mary Elizabeth was given to the Hendricks Family.( Source Family Chart by Phillip Steele)
Also a daughter Mary James b.1809 married to John Mimms.
Why would they name the two daughters in the same family Mary? Perhaps because the baby sister did not stay in the same family and was named after the Mother Mary (Polly) that died. Glynda
