I live in Northwestern Canada and people here generally get it wrong but its better than Texas where I grew up...I got everything in the book down south from "owyooletty" to "omellett" to "cuewlett".
I was taught to pronounce it with the French enunciation as "wuh lette" The original spelling is listed on a monument in eastern Canada as HOUALET.........there are many spelling versions and some in Louisiana as well.
