This is really great information! I can trace my Minnesota Ouellette line directly back to Francois Ouellette and Isabelle Barre. My family has always claimed to have Algonquin blood and used my poor great grandmother as proof - they said she is the MAN's face on the indian head nickel! (Sadly, it was not much of an exaggeration.) But she was Rosalie Michaud... not a Ouellette.
