Thank you for such wonderful information. My ggrandfather was Pierre LaBelle, son of Louise Ouellet and Olivier Calixte Lebel. He was born March 20, 1858 in Isle Verte. Going back from there: Louise Ouellet was the daughter of Louise Theriault and Francois Ouellet. Olivier Calixte was the son of Adeline Bois and Olivier Calixte. Adeline Bois was the daughter of Jerome Bois and Theotiste Ouellet. I can go back a few more generations if you need me to. I am fascinated by the family "rumor" about Metis blood. I am not expecting any monetary rewards from this just the satisfaction of finding out for sure. Here in Michigan if you have Indian blood you are entitled to many perks (hence my comment about monetary rewards).
